There is an additional materials fee payable to the tutor of £15 per student to cover the costs of ink/paper/some tools and other incidentals required during the course.

These classes are suitable for beginners and those who are looking to further develop their printmaking skills.  Using safe techniques and materials this printmaking course will allow the participant to explore a range of printmaking techniques that are easily replicated at home.  The course will look at good studio practice, editioning a series of prints and combining different printmaking techniques together.

With some recent additions to the printmaking studio Fiona now has 3 presses and a good selection of letter press blocks for printing.  Students will be able to move between the three times classes offered for this term

Printmaking techniques that will be covered are as follows – etching, collography, monoprinting and lino cuts, with other techniques on request.

Fiona will be undertaking a year long, self directed ,practice based research project exploring a range of different printmaking techniques using the found and encountered.
The prints will create a visual narrative of the investigation and exploration reflecting both process and artistic intention.
