Sheena is well known for her watercolour paintings both traditional and abstracted. She has exhibited widely in the UK and Italy.
Sheena’s class will run on a Friday morning from 10am – 12 noon
Materials are not included in the cost of the class. Please bring your own paints, brushes and paper and any other materials that you might have. Advice and purchase of materials can be provided by Sheena.
Our aim
- Paint what you want to say in your own way
- How to set yourself up for success before you start painting.
- You will be shown how to make layers of watercolour in a painting if you prefer to have more control over the outcome.
- You will explore and find out which colours you go to instinctively.
- You will painting with limited colours, colour harmonies and contrasting colours so that you feel able to make your own creative choices.
During the term you will have opportunity to use a variety of materials which she will introduce to you.
And finally you are reminded to be kind to yourself and do what makes you happy.

Brought up in Ayrshire, Sheena gained her Diploma at Edinburgh College of Art. She was craftsman in residence in Linlithgow then worked as a furniture designer until she decided to return to painting with the move to Haddington. She tutors painting at the Poldrate Arts and Crafts Centre where she was past chairman.
Her first love is landscape. She likes to prepare sketches and paintings on site. Her work has been described as ‘atmospheric and evocative, often showing the effect of light on water and land.
She is an elected artist member of the Paisley Arts Institute. She represents Scotland with 14 other artists in the Fabriano In Acquarello held in Bologna. Among the many galleries in which she has exhibited are the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour and The Discerning Eye and The Royal Institute, London. She has been commissioned by councils and many firms and individuals in Britain and abroad.
At present she is represented by the Colinton Gallery
