Online course – A Six Week Course with 3 projects
Thursday 8th April – Thursday 13th May
It will be a six week course with 3 video demos and 3 zoom meetings.
Projects and videos will be sent out on the first Thursday 8 April, 22 April and 6th May
Each zoom meeting will be on alternate Thursdays. 15 April, 29 April and 13 May. The link will be sent out on the Thursday morning.
The zoom meeting will be will be 90 minutes with a 10 min break in the middle

Our aim – Paint what you want to say in your own way
We will look at

-How to set yourself up for success before you start painting.
Which colours do we go to instinctively?
-A limited palate, dull colours, intense colours?
-You will painting with limited colours, colour harmonies and contrasting colours so that you feel able to make your own creative choices.

My demonstrations will be mostly in watercolour with a bit of pastel if I feel like it! The tonal sketches can be in watercolour, pencils, charcoal and/or grey felt tip pens in a sketchbook.
With the sketches we will go on to make a painting using whatever materials you wish.

In the meantime, you can look out photos of a place that you loved but that you felt that the photos wouldn’t make a good painting.

Always remember that we have to be kind to ourselves and try to do what makes us happy. This might sound silly but I am going to try to remember this for myself for the rest of the year.

‘Studio Session on Zoom’

A four week course every Wednesday morning starting Wednesday 14th April 10 – 12

A link will be sent out the night before.
The purpose is to give people a point in the week to show up and paint.  The cameras will be on but everyone will be on mute unless anyone would like to say or ask anything on the hour and the half hour.  My camera will be on the work that I am doing if anyone wants have a break from their own work.

There is no need to have your camera on, only if you wish this.

She tutors painting at the Poldrate Arts and Crafts Centre where she was past chairman. She also tutors for continuing Education. Her first love is landscape. She likes to prepare sketches and paintings on site. However she is happy to take commissions using photographs when necessary. Most of her work is commissioned, not only landscape but portraits and still life. Her work has been described as ‘atmospheric and evocative’, often showing the effect of light on water and land. She has had work accepted by the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, Royal Scottish Society of Watercolours, Aberdeen Artists Society, The North Ayrshire Arts Council and The Discerning Eye, London. She has been commissioned by councils and many firms and individuals in Britain and abroad.
