Exploring Drawing: Wednesday 7 – 9pm on 3rd Floor Poldrate Granary.
Georgina is the tutor for the Exploring Drawing class on a Wednesday evening from 7-9pm in the Third Floor Poldrate Granary. This class is suitable for the complete beginner right through to professional artists. Just come along and get started!
Requirement list for class: A3 sketchbook, range of soft pencils, rubbers, charcoal. A further charge may be made for additional materials supplied by the tutor.
This exciting and informative class is taught by local professional artist Georgina Bown. Georgina’s work has recently been shown at The Royal Scottish Academy, the Royal Glasgow institute, the Royal society of Marine Artists and the Royal Society of British Artists. Over a ten week term students will experiment with Graphite, Charcoal, Pastels and pencil, and then to take monotone into colour. “The art of good drawing is good looking” says Georgina. All work is drawn from life and subjects change constantly depending on the leaning of the group. Students are a mixture of complete beginners to professional artists. Be prepared to be encouraged to try expressive bold drawing with Georgina’s successful quirky teaching style. Be prepared to be pushed out of your comfort zone and into a new one!

Since studying at The Chelsea School of Art, Georgina has worked in many different mediums, including illustration for print and architectural design for Architects and Designers. Moving to Leith and qualifying as a welder and fabricator Georgina produced large scale public and corporate sculptures. Working with glass and steel Georgina has undertaken commissions across the UK. Now living and working in North Berwick, Georgina is producing strong bold Lino-cut and Monoprint pictures developing a growing obsession with all things nautical.
